We went to go visit Santa this weekend.
Ryan and I were so excited to have Judah take his first picture with Santa.
I spent all day Saturday talking to Judah about it and showing him pictures and videos of Santa. I told him he could sit on Santa’s lap and touch his beard and he was so excited.
When we got to the store, we got a ‘pass’ to come back in two hours to take our picture. So, we spent some of that extra time watching other kids take pictures with Santa. I thought “this is so perfect, he will understand what to do and he’s going to be so excited when it’s his turn”
After those two agonizing hours, it was our turn! Judah saw Santa up on his chair and was so giddy. We said ‘hello’ to Santa and Judah immediately started jabbering his life story to the kind, old man. He was such a great Santa – he looked authentic AND sober! Two important characteristics for any Santa, in my opinion.
I asked Judah if he wanted to sit on Santa’s lap and he gave me a big nod of satisfaction. OK! Judah sat down on his lap, with a smile on his face and started rubbing his red suit and his white, flowing beard.
You know that when the photographer says “Ma’am, I think it’s time to go save Santa”, your time is up!
I can’t help but chuckle every time I see this picture. I also have to admit that I might have been praying that Judah would do something funny. I’m not much for boring pictures, anyway!
Have you visited Santa yet?
