My husband bought me my dream house. He really likes me.
When I say ‘dream house’, I suppose if I really were dreaming (with no limitations), it’s maybe missing a few things. Ya know..a full time housekeeper, a handsome, personal chef, a self-baking oven, an indoor, heated swimming pool with stocked mini-bar and a panic room. Eh, you can’t always have it all.
However, despite it’s insignificant missing details, I’m in luuurve. And it wasn’t an easy process, might I add. We waited almost 6 months for this house. Being in Michigan, there is an epidemic of short sales. In fact, it was almost impossible to find a home for sale that wasn’t in foreclosure or a short sale. But we waited. And boy am I glad we did! It was well worth the painful wait.
I will be showing you lots of pictures of our house in the near future. I even have plans of giving you a full picture tour of our home once we get it all picture-worthy. But, in the meantime, here is a little peek into our living room and one of our first major (ok, maybe minor) DIY projects. We have visions for plenty of major projects when the money gets there, but for now, we are happy with what we have.
I present to you…
Dum Dum Dum…
What started out looking like this (this picture was taken during our inspection-sorry previous homeowners)
See the nook in the wall where the little bookshelf is sitting?
Well, it now looks like this…
Wowzers!!!! I still can’t believe we did that all on our own.
Tomorrow I will post our step-by-step guide.
