So remember how I told you we just bought a house? Well, we did! Last month. And it’s our FIRST HOUSE!!! We’ve been married for a little over three years now, and we have been searching for at least half of that time for our first home. Now that the day has come where we are homeowners and no longer renters, it’s a little strange…
WARNING: BE PREPARED FOR PICTURE OVERLOAD!
We moved into our last apartment in October of 2009 when I was pregnant with Judah. I can remember the excitement of starting our new, little family in our new, little apartment in our new, little town. It was a two bedroom two bath apartment about the size of a pea. Ok, maybe a little bigger than that, but once the baby stuff starts piling up it definitely feels the size of a pea!
We brought Judah home from the hospital to that new, little apartment. We had been working diligently on perfecting his nursery!
Yesterday I went to the old apartment to paint Judah’s nursery back to its original while walls. Judah went to my mother-in-law’s for the day so I was left in the apartment with my thoughts. Surprisingly, I got a little bit sad as I covered up that tree. We spent the first year and a half of Judah’s life in that apartment, and although I complained about it (a lot), it does hold plenty of great memories.
The first day we brought Judah home in his biliblanket. We called him our glow worm. He was perfect.
His first bath. He wasn’t very happy, but who would be?!
Judah’s first smile. He has always been such a happy baby.
His first time rolling over. We were so excited to catch it on video!
His first time in his high chair.
His first christmas.
Judah’s first steps!
And his first birthday!
So, am I going to miss that little pea-sized apartment? HEEEEEEECK NO! But we are very grateful for the memories it helped us create. We are looking forward to this new time in our lives in our first home where we can begin creating all new memories!
This home is a fresh start; chapter 2.
Goodbye little apartment. We hope you make lots more memories with your new family!
